Extended Education is seeking a subject matter expert to instruct

MGMT 0390 - The Current Issues in Public Sector Management

as part of the Flexible Part-Time Program package for Certificate in Public Sector Management.

Responsibilities:



Classroom instruction, supervision and guidance of students, student evaluation, maintenance of student records, and other professional duties related to instruction. The incumbent is also required to participate in student orientation and graduation activities.

Qualifications:



Required Qualifications



Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Currently employed in a leadership/senior level position with the Government of Manitoba.



Extensive experience in Manitoba public sector management.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to use conflict resolution techniques to facilitate positive outcomes.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Strong presentation skills.

Ability to teach in-person and remotely.

Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to work independently as well as in small to large group settings.

Experience building a respectful workplace culture that promotes diversity, learning and continuous improvement.

Asset Qualifications



Experience instructing at a post-secondary level.

Experience instructing distance-delivered courses including online.

Experience using a Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver blended (synchronous and asynchronous) instruction.

Conditions



Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

This position may be required to work evenings and/or weekends.

This position may be required to work throughout the year, including summer months.

In addition, applicants should have experience in adult learning and teaching, excellent communication skills in the English language, excellent interpersonal skills, and be highly organized. Applicants must be committed to life-long learning and embrace a learner-centered approach to teaching. The ability to engage students in their learning environment and a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion are an integral part of the position. Assets also include experience instructing at a post-secondary level, using teaching and learning technology (e.g. Um Learn and Zoom), experience teaching in multiple modalities including blended (online and in-person) delivery and demonstrated leadership skills.
