Family Services York Region (FSYR) is a not-for-profit mental health agency providing counselling and outreach support services to individuals, couples, families, groups and communities across York Region. Counsellor/Therapist to join our team

The Counsellor/Therapist is responsible for providing psychotherapy services to individuals, couples and families as well as youth involved with the youth justice system. The Counsellor/Therapist will also have opportunities to support other programs, including groups, brief services, and outreach.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience working in a clinical setting. Masters degree in social work, psychology, counselling or related discipline. Registration and good standing with a regulatory college (i.e., CRPO or OCSWSSW). Knowledge of various individual, couple and family counselling modalities and evidence informed practices. Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safe service in a variety of settings with diverse populations. Ability to work remotely from home with internet capacity and in the office, as required. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including a minimum of two evenings per week. Strong computer skills and capacity to work on virtual platforms and client information systems (such as CaseWorks). An energetic and welcoming personality with ability to be versatile, flexible and a team player. A satisfactory current Vulnerable Sector Screening. Fluency in second language is an asset. Experience with brief services and/or indigenous communities is considered an asset.
