We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care to individuals and families. This role involves working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, addressing various mental health challenges through evidence-based practices. The Counselor will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings.
A Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and intake evaluations to determine mental health needs.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices.
Provide psychotherapy utilizing various modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Psychodynamic Therapy.
Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on topics such as grief counseling, addiction recovery, and behavioral management.
Offer crisis intervention services to clients in need of immediate support.
Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations, including ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Engage in clinical research activities to enhance service delivery and treatment outcomes.
Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs.
Utilize telehealth platforms for remote counseling sessions when necessary.
Qualifications
Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required.
Valid licensure or certification as a professional counselor or therapist is preferred.
Experience working with children and families is highly desirable.
Familiarity with crisis management techniques and behavioral therapy approaches.
Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with medical records management.
Strong skills in case management and patient assessment are essential.
Experience in inpatient or outpatient settings is beneficial.
Proficiency in art therapy or dance therapy techniques is a plus.
Understanding of psychopharmacology as it relates to mental health treatment is advantageous.
