Job Overview
This is a counselling practice located in the heart of Downtown Langley. Our primary focus is clinical counselling and providing ethical and compassionate care to people in their most vulnerable time. We are dedicated to helping individuals heal from the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression and more, through compassionate, evidence-based, and client-centered care.

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Trauma-Informed Counsellor to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to understanding the impact of trauma on mental health and possess the skills to offer effective therapeutic support in a safe, non-judgmental environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide individual counselling services to clients dealing with various forms of trauma.
• Work with youth, young adults and adults struggling with symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, fears and more.
• Use trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic modalities such as CBT, DBT, EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, or other relevant approaches.
• Build and maintain a therapeutic relationship that is empathetic, supportive, and non-judgmental.
• Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
• Participate in regular supervision and professional development to ensure best practices in trauma-informed care.
• Contribute to a positive and supportive work environment where trauma-informed practices are promoted.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Registered or eligible for registration with a relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., RCC, CCC, or RSW).
• Demonstrated experience in providing trauma-informed care and therapy to individuals.
• Proficiency in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities and interventions.
• Strong understanding of the effects of trauma on mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• You are flexible for both in person and online counselling.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster trust and rapport with clients.

Preferred Skills:

• Training in specialized therapeutic techniques such as EMDR, Gottman, Somatic Experiencing, DBT, CBT.
• Open to working with third parties counseling coverage providers.
