The Opportunity:

Are you a Cost Analyst that enjoys supporting a large portfolio within Information Systems? Are you analytical and a problem solver who enjoys working as a team to find solutions? Reporting to the Vice President, Information Systems & Corporate Services the Cost Analyst is responsible for the overall collection and analysis of budget and forecast data for the Information Systems department. The successful candidate not only analyzes financial data, but also proactively identifies and implements process improvement opportunities, demonstrating strong organizational skills, accountability and attention to detail.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Preparation, consolidation, analysis and submission of Information Systems (IS) and Corporate Services (CS) Operational and Capital budgets and 10-year Long Range Plan
  • Ensuring team compliance with IS internal financial management processes
  • Monthly analysis of actuals / full-year forecast vs budget (opex, capex, headcounts)
  • Preparation, monitoring and analysis of monthly accruals (opex, capex)
  • Maintain departmental budget worksheets with actual dollars spent, reconciling departmental and corporate accounting systems

  • Shift schedule: 5x2 - Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Typically 5+ years of related industry experience with a University Degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration
  • CPA Accounting designation
  • Familiarity and understanding of the Information Systems business within:
  • Financial and management accounting
  • Microsoft Office; Highly proficient in Excel
  • E1 (formerly JD Edwards) software, DAS and general IT knowledge are considered an asset
