The Cost Accounting Analyst is responsible for monitoring and periodically updating cost data within the ERP system. This role serves as a strategic partner to Operational Finance (Manufacturing and Distribution & Logistics) and collaborates closely with internal stakeholders in the Costing department, including Category Finance, Commercial Finance, and Analytical Finance.

  • Salary Scale 004: $71,200 to $89,000
(Base salary will be determined based on academic background, experience, training, and job-related skills)
What this role involves:
  • Produce cost analyses for various internal clients:
  • New recipe costing
  • Total production cost
  • Storage and picking cost
  • Other ad hoc analyses
  • Develop reports on Class 4A and powder cost/pricing
  • Contribute to variable profitability analysis
  • Identify by-product cascades across the network in collaboration with the Costing Specialist
  • Act as a translator of costing tools, assumptions, and methodologies
  • Deliver clear business explanations during costing updates
  • Create and modify formulas in integrated systems
  • Conduct periodic recipe reviews
  • Lead Part 1 of the "Butter Puzzle" project
  • Lead Part 2 of the "Storage & Picking Puzzle" project (SAP, JDE, Miramichi, Cognos)
  • Develop tools for work and process management
  • Actively participate in understanding and developing the new SAP ERP system
What you need to join our team:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a manufacturing, finance, or cost analysis environment
  • CPA designation (an asset)
  • Knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes and by-product management
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Autonomy, curiosity, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Skilled at simplifying complex financial concepts
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle - an asset)
