Job Description
We are on the lookout for a meticulous Intermediate Cost Accountant to be a part of our team located in New Tecumseth, Ontario. The role primarily involves ensuring accurate job costing, monitoring job costs for accurate accounting and reporting.This is an great opportunity for a progressive accountant to build a stable career.Responsibilities:
- Overseeing cost accounting for projects including materials and labor
- Working with inventory and accounting systems for job tracking and cost allocation
- Ensuring proper costs within the invoices including labor and product costs
- Ensuring all projects are allocated correctly within the system
- Collaborating with project managers for billing processes
- Assisting in the implementation of an ERP system for inventory management
- Auditing and reviewing invoices for cost accuracy
- Handling monthly end accounting processes
- Engaging with the inventory processes, warehouse, and shipping teams
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cost Accountant or in a related role
- Proficient in Accounting Software Systems
- Experience with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
- Thorough understanding and practical experience of Accounting Functions
- Proven experience in Auditing
- Knowledge of Budget Processes
- Experience in managing Cash Activity
- Knowledge of Construction Cost accounting is a plus
- Understanding of Activity Based Costing is required
