The
Tax Manager (full-time, permanent)
will participate in projects around Corporate Tax compliance and provision for our US and Canadian entities. You will contribute to special projects for the Tax group. Additionally, the successful candidate will work alongside the larger Tax team to ensure we provide cross-functional tax guidance and process improvements that make a difference to our business. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, enjoy staying up to date on tax regulations, and possess problem-solving abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Work daily with the Tax Director to deliver:
+ Quarterly and Annual Calculations related to Provision and Compliance
+ Monthly G/L reconciliations of the Federal, Provincial and State Corporate Accounts
+ Provide support in researching jurisdictions and appropriate treatment of services completed by our businesses.
+ Ensure we are registered and have access to all tax jurisdiction authorities where we do business Help develop and implement system processes to ensure more effective analysis and use of the data
Assist in Cross-border transaction analysis.
Monitor and research tax regulations and rulings communicating changes to our business
Regularly review our Online accounts to ensure all Notifications and Balances are paid in a timely fashion
Assist in Business Model reviews to ensure our internal groups are aware of the Permanent Establishment and Nexus impact
Perform other tasks related to this function as assigned
What We Are Looking For:
Minimum ten (10) years working in a role focused on both Canadian and US Corporate tax, is required* Canadian or US CPA designation, is required* Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
Completion of Indepth or Indepth in progress, considered an asset* Proven technical skills in US and Canadian income tax as it relates to Corporations and cross border transactions
Strong knowledge of US and Canadian tax return requirements, knowledge in differences in filing methodologies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction
Advanced knowledge of Excel (including VLOOKUP; Pivot Table; IF Functions)
Knowledge of Viewpoint considered an asset* Experience with Construction industry considered an asset* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver complex information in a simplified manner engaging both internal and external parties
Ability to deal with time-sensitive, confidential information, with a high degree of diplomacy and professionalism
Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to manage competing priorities, deadlines and ensuring compliance with changing regulations
