Corporate Communications Coordinator

Toronto, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

The Organization:

Plug'n Drive is a not-for-profit organization accelerating electric vehicle (EV) adoption in Canada to maximize the environmental and economic benefits of an electrified transportation sector. Our vision is to help Canada achieve its goal of 100% electric vehicle sales by 2035 or earlier. Since 2011, we have made incredible strides in our mission through a variety of consumer education programs, including the launch of the world's first Electric Vehicle Discovery Centre (EVDC) in Toronto, the Electric Vehicle Roadshow event series as well as the Mobile EV Education Trailer (MEET). Our corporate partnerships include EV auto manufacturers, utilities, EV charger manufacturers, and others.

Plug'n Drive is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to fostering an inclusive, accessible environment, where employees feel valued, respected, and supported. We are dedicated to building a team that reflects the diversity of the communities in which we live and serve, and in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), we will provide accommodations throughout the recruitment and selection process. If you require accommodation, we will work with you to meet your needs.

Role Overview

Plug'n Drive is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Corporate Communications Coordinator to support the development and delivery of high-quality reports, proposals, presentations, and other corporate-facing communications. This role ensures consistent, professional, and visually engaging communications across the organization. The Coordinator will also contribute to storytelling, knowledge management, and communications measurement to support the growth and impact of Plug'n Drive's mission to accelerate electric vehicle adoption in Canada.

This is a full-time position suited for someone who excels at both writing and design, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoys bringing clarity and polish to organizational communications.

How This Role Fits

The Corporate Communications Coordinator works closely with the Communications Advisor and reports directly to the Director of Strategic Initiatives and Public Affairs. While the Communications Advisor focuses on public-facing engagement, event marketing, campaigns, and media, the Coordinator ensures that Plug'n Drive's corporate-facing materials--impact reports, proposals, sponsorship packages, presentations, and internal toolkits--are polished, consistent, and strategically aligned. Together, these roles strengthen the organization's ability to communicate with the public, partners, sponsors, and policymakers with professionalism and impact.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a dynamic communicator who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You are a self-starter who takes initiative, learns quickly, and enjoys juggling multiple projects at once. Detail-oriented and highly organized, you take pride in polishing your work to a high standard. You love creating graphics and visual materials that bring ideas to life, and you're comfortable starting from a blank page to shape compelling content. Tech-savvy and eager to explore new tools, you know how to leverage AI and other digital resources to work smarter and faster. Enthusiastic, resourceful, and adaptable, you bring energy and creativity to every project, helping Plug'n Drive tell its story with clarity and impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Impact Reporting

Draft and format program impact reports for Plug'n Drive programs, sponsors, and partners, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and professional presentation. Collect and analyze data from programs to inform reports, including metrics, outcomes, and qualitative success stories. Source stories, photos, and testimonials from staff and programs to enhance reporting and make content engaging. Track KPIs across communications outputs (event reports, report downloads, media hits, newsletter, website, social media, etc.) to inform reporting and demonstrate impact. Leverage AI tools for drafting, editing, design support, and data analysis to improve efficiency and quality. Use KPIs and collected data to support quarterly, annual, and impromptu communications summaries for the board, sponsors, and partners.

2. Proposals, Partnership Materials, and External Communications

Draft and format proposals, sponsorship decks, briefing notes, and marketing materials for potential and existing partners, sponsors, and funders. Support media and stakeholder communications, including drafting content for press releases, advisories, and backgrounders as needed. Draft short-form content for websites, LinkedIn, newsletters, and other channels that highlight Plug'n Drive's impact, partnerships, and initiatives. Collaborate with the Communications Advisor to produce organizational updates, fact sheets, FAQs, and other supporting materials for external audiences.

3. Presentations, Branding, and Corporate Messaging

Maintain and update PowerPoint presentations and slide decks across programs to ensure professional, consistent, and polished messaging. Maintain and enhance Plug'n Drive's brand and style guidelines to support consistent communication as the organization grows. Develop and maintain internal toolkits (boilerplate text, key messages, templates) to ensure staff across teams can create consistent, on-brand materials. Support the design and formatting of visual assets, including infographics, one-pagers, charts, and slide decks for reports, presentations, and marketing purposes. Maintain shared repositories of communications materials for easy access and ensure onboarding resources are available for new staff and EV Ambassadors. Keep corporate website pages up to date, including sponsor, partner, and program pages, integrating impact reports, data, and other relevant content.

4. Strategic Support, Analysis and Team Work

Provide research, benchmarking, and insights to support communications strategies and initiatives. Monitor and report on communications KPIs, using findings to refine reporting, proposals, and messaging. Ensure that all reporting, proposals, presentations, and content maintain alignment with Plug'n Drive's strategic goals, branding, and messaging. Actively contribute to team culture by participating in team meetings, planning sessions, and cross-team collaboration. Maintain up-to-date cross-training to serve as the back-up for other communications functions. Support shared responsibilities such as file management, record-keeping, and maintaining organizational systems. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

Strong writing, editing, and formatting skills with proven attention to detail. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and design tools (Canva, Adobe InDesign, or equivalent). Experience in digital content management (WordPress or similar CMS an asset). Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines. Familiarity with communications measurement tools (Google Analytics, social media insights, or similar) an asset. 2-4 years of experience in communications, corporate affairs, or a related role.
