, you'll take on a key fly-in, fly-out (21/21) role based in Deception Bay. You'll work closely with the Terminal Director and operations teams as a trusted business partner--proactively identifying risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and most importantly, improving practices that have a real impact on employees' daily work.

Responsibilities:
What does a typical day look like as a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator:
Health & Safety:
Promote a positive HSE culture within the teams
Organize and lead HSE committee meetings; write meeting minutes
Conduct inspections, audits, and accident investigations
Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies
Support managers in applying HSE programs
Contribute to claims management and emergency response planning
Oversee the implementation of HSE initiatives and follow up on corrective actions
Train and raise awareness among employees and supervisors
Environment:
Manage the environmental action plan and ensure port compliance
Monitor environmental performance under the
Green Marine Alliance
program
Develop procedures for managing environmental risks
Maintain relationships with external stakeholders
Ensure compliance with
ISPS
(International Ship and Port Facility Security) requirements
Respond to environmental or public safety emergencies
Continuous Improvement:
Develop performance indicators and prepare reports
Actively contribute to the evolution of HSE systems and practices
Qualifications:
What You Need to Succeed as an Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator :
A diploma in Health & Safety, Environment, or a related field
Significant experience in a similar role (industrial, logistics, port, or related sectors)
Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety and environmental laws and standards
Excellent communication, leadership, and influencing skills
Good judgment, strong attention to detail, autonomy, and adaptability
Proficiency with digital tools (MS Office Suite, HSE systems)
Certifications/Licenses: As required by the sector (e.g., ISPS)
Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written) is required
