Reporting to the Senior Supervisor, Water Quality, the Coordinator, Water Quality is responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of the implementation plan for water quality programs in the Coal Business Unit. This is a temporary contract position for one year with the possibility of an extension.

We require someone with outstanding planning and organizational capabilities, strong attention to detail, and the ability to remain adaptable while prioritizing competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine and apply your scientific knowledge, technical skills, and project coordination experience to support all programs run by the Water Quality team. You will specifically support with coordination of disciplines to facilitate the overall water quality treatment planning for the coal business unit.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Schedule and plan resources to support water quality treatment planning, studies, and other activities
  • Track and coordinate information to be compiled into the Teck\'s tri-annual planning process for water quality treatment
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of budget, accruals, invoicing, and other cost tracking duties
  • Maintain and update monthly progress reports on related monitoring projects, studies, and programs
  • Identify areas for innovation for continuous improvement of Teck\'s water quality planning, studies, and activities
  • Communicate emerging issues to Senior personal
Qualifications:
  • Degree or Diploma in Science, Engineering, or environmental-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum three years of experience in water quality or environmental management
  • Experience in working with Indigenous Nations, regulatory agencies, and other communities of interest
  • Working knowledge of provincial and federal regulatory approvals practices, legislation, and regulations
