The Coordinator, Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement is the champion for recruitment, onboarding, training & volunteer engagement for DCGT. The coordinator is committed to providing attentive support for staff and external inquiries related to volunteerism. This role handles admin-related operations and implements creative solutions to volunteer recruitment and engagement.
Position Location:
This position follows a hybrid remote model, requiring a minimum of one day per week (Mondays) in the office. As the organization and the role continue to evolve, in-office requirements are likely to increase. DCGT will supply the equipment necessary for remote work if required. In addition, this role may require travel to local recruitment events as necessary.

Responsibilities and Functions:
Recruitment and Engagement:
Oversee recruitment postings internal, website and external
Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization
Screen eligible applicants by reviewing their skills, qualifications and fit
Coordinate onboarding for volunteers in a timely and professional manner
Maintains rapport and healthy working relationships with staff and volunteers
Assist with volunteer engagement through implementation of volunteer appreciation initiatives
Takes the initiative to problem solve and improve processes for overall better health of volunteer engagement and recruitment
Main liaison for Volunteer Leadership Program applicants and participants
Training:
Responsible for oversight of administrative components of training programs within Distress Centres of Greater Toronto
Oversight of training schedule including facilitators, co-facilitators, mentors, trainees and other participants
Facilitates and supports volunteer training and implementation of new initiatives including technology changes, data management consolidation etc.
Able to conduct training sessions as required, based on facilitator availability or absences
Reporting, Records and Administration:
Maintains electronic volunteer documents and files
Ensure documentation, tracking and record keeping is accurate, efficient, effective and secure
Assists in preparation of reports and presentations related to volunteer administration and onboarding
Effectively manage competing priorities to ensure important deliverables are not missed and assigned tasks are not delayed
Resolves administrative problems by analyzing information, identifying and communicating solutions
Volunteer Engagement:
Support Volunteer engagement activities across the organization including the measurement and management of overall volunteer base growth and volunteer attrition.
Design and execute initiatives to foster volunteer satisfaction and retention
Assist with volunteer engagement by planning and executing volunteer appreciation events, training workshops, and community outreach activities.
Manage volunteer certification programs, ensuring timely issuance of certificates for completed training, service hours, or special contributions.
Organize milestone acknowledgments (e.g. 100 hours served, 1-year anniversaries) to boost morale and retention.
Other Responsibilities:
Supports DCGT activities as needed
Participates and supports funding applications as needed
Ensures policies and procedures are adhered to at all times
Provides on-call coverage to priority and local lines, as required
Required to communicate and relate to others in a positive, open, honest and respectful manner
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
A certificate or diploma in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Business Administration, Volunteer Resources or equivalent experience
Minimum 2 years nonprofit experience working directly with volunteers
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Exemplary organization and administration skills
Great time management and multitasking skills; able to prioritize and execute administrative tasks along with inquiries from volunteers and staff in an efficient manner
Ability to problem solve creative solutions to workflow problems
Experience with reporting, evaluation, etc.
Must demonstrate ability to exercise sound judgment in the interest of Distress Centres of Greater Toronto
High attention to detail, accuracy, and quality
Proficiency with MS Office Suite especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
Experience with database systems
A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Check

Pay: $52,000.00-$56,000.00 per year
