Coordinator of Operations & Curriculum Development
The Coordinator of Operations & Curriculum Development is responsible for ensuring licensed childcare programs operate effectively while maintaining high standards in curriculum development. This role supports the implementation of policies and guidelines, ensures regulatory compliance, promotes staff development, and fosters community engagement.

Senior Manager, Child Care and Early Years Services
Key Duties and Responsibilities of this position include:
Enforce policies, protocols, and guidelines to ensure all childcare programs comply with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI), and health & safety standards.
Support managers in developing operational tools such as templates, forms, and annual work plans.
Conduct program quality improvement audits and licensing audits to maintain high standards.
Ensure programs align with the ELECT framework and "How Does Learning Happen?" principles, promoting holistic child development.
Collaborate with site supervisors to design and implement high-quality, age-appropriate programs that are inclusive and culturally diverse.
Plan and coordinate enrichment programs, PA day activities, and school break programs to enhance learning experiences.
Maintain and update a resource library accessible to all childcare programs.
Develop and manage monthly program calendars and ensure they are published on the agency website.
Supervise lead RECEs and childcare staff through regular site visits and performance monitoring.
Ensure staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times and provide mentorship or disciplinary support when necessary.
Support recruitment, onboarding, professional development, and evaluation of staff performance.
Monitor staff attendance, schedule coverage, and coordinate training plans to support professional growth.
Maintain accurate program records, attendance data, and financial documentation, ensuring timely submission to Toronto Children's Services.
Manage expenditures, resource utilization, and program purchases efficiently.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to implement programs, services, and events effectively.
Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote licensed childcare programs within the community.
Engage with families and community partners by participating in school events and program orientations.
Support program growth by identifying community needs and opportunities for expansion.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in licensed childcare settings
Early Childhood Education diploma (or equivalent with Ministry approval)
Current member of College of Early Childhood Educators
Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (infant and child)
Knowledge of CCEYA, Toronto Children's Services AQI, ELECT/ELF, and "How Does Learning Happen?"
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and administrative tasks
Clear Police Reference Check, up-to-date immunizations, and Child Care and Early Years Act Certificate
Working Conditions:
Flexible hours as required by childcare program schedules
Fast-paced, high-noise environment with children of various ages
Travel to multiple centres for site visits
Physical demands associated with working with children and/or lifting/moving items related to work
