Riverside School Board (located at 7525 chemin de Chambly, Saint-Hubert) is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR leader for a
full-time permanent
position within the Human Resources department.
NATURE OF THE POSITION
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Coordinator of Human Resources is a key member of our HR team. This position entails the performances of all duties required for the coordination, supervision, evaluation, research, and development of one or more programs in the field of Human Resources Management. The coordinator will be expected to play a partnership role with schools, centres and departments to significantly contribute to the achievement of their goals and strengthen management expertise across the organization in the area of human resources management.
This position will participate in the various initiatives, projects and annual cycles related to compensation and benefit programs, policies, and procedures while leading teams overseeing pay, benefits, employee leaves and the health & wellness programs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise, evaluate and lead direct reports by ensuring the application and respect of all provisions of the by-laws, policies, and procedures.
Lead the strategic payroll and related tax processes efficiently and accurately, ensuring timely payment to all employees. Coordinate and partner with Finance and relevant departments and key stakeholders as necessary.
Oversee employee benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, and other fringe benefits, triaging related inquiries and concerns related to benefits.
Coordinate employee leave programs including vacation, sick leave, parental leave, and other types of leave. Ensure compliance with legal requirements, policies and collective agreements.
Develop and administer the delivery of health & wellness initiatives and programs to promote employee well-being. Coordinate wellness activities, workshops, and seminars, where possible.
Serve as the knowledge resource regarding complex pay, benefits and leaves matters, ensuring privacy and analysis in a fair and confidential manner.
Guide and administer salary determination process based on collective agreements and salary scales, as well as yearly increases, bonuses or any other amounts based on Ministry requirements.
Uphold accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases ensuring accuracy of generated reports and HR metrics to support decision-making.
Support the director and HR department in the development and monitoring of compensation and benefits strategies, objectives, policies, and programs. Identify opportunities for adjustment as required.
Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to support organizational goals and initiatives. Participate in HR-related projects and committees as assigned.
Coordinate any payroll activities that could include internal and external reporting of salary information, PERCOS etc.
Ensure implementation and ongoing maintenance of compensation and benefits programs (including internal communications and relationships with key stakeholders).
Perform any additional tasks related as assigned to the role.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
HR certification (e.g., CRHA, CHRP, CPA, etc....) is an asset. Up to 5+ years of experience in human resources management with specialty in payroll, benefits and leave dossiers preferably in a school board, educational setting or unionized environment.
Proven experience leading, managing and championing successful teams and direct reports.
Proficiency in HRIS software key HR software effectively for management purposes (i.e., GRICS PAIE et GRH, Serie Poste or any other HR software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Strong expertise and technical knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration, and leave management practices.
Familiarity with relevant Quebec employment laws and regulations. (i.e., Retraite Qc, CNESST/Salary Insurance, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal and bilingual fluency communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
Knowledge of the various collective agreements of the Quebec English School boards is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
ANNUAL BASIC SALARY:
As outlined in the Regulation Respecting the Conditions of Employment of Management Staff of School Boards. The position falls in Classification 06 (between $78,600 and $104,797).
