The Coordinator of Early Learning and Child Care will support the implementation of the BC Early Learning Framework and will work with schools and community partners to ensure that all children have access to high quality early learning opportunities and are prepared for a successful transition into school. The Coordinator of Early Learning and Child Care supports the District Principal of Early Learning and Child Care in developing programs and services that support physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development of children 0-8 years in the Chilliwack School District. This includes parent education, parent and toddler drop in learning, preschool and school childcare sites.

THE POSITION
The Coordinator of Early Learning and Child Care will be responsible for the following:
Work cooperatively with a broad section of the community including government departments, public and private organizations
Assist the District Principal of Early Learning and Child Care with building Family-Community-School Partnerships that support the BC Early Learning Framework
Assist and support the Early Childhood Educator staff under the direction of the District Principal of Early Learning and Child Care
Oversee day to day operations of the district JustB4 preschool programs and the Seamless Day childcare program
Assist with coordination and callout of replacement staffing for district-run preschools and child care programs
Identify, recommend, and co-develop action plans regarding potential partnership opportunities to support child care 0-12 on school grounds
Coordinate and collaborate with the Fraser Health Authority to license childcare on school District grounds
Run the summer \xe2\x80\x98Ready Set Learn\xe2\x80\x99 and Parent/Child Drop in Programs under the direction and programming of the District Principal of ELCC
Assist the District Principal of Early Learning and Early Literacy Coordinator Teacher with planning and access to professional development for early childhood educators. Specific focus is to include the First Peoples Principles of Learning, outdoor education, social emotional skills, and culturally sustaining pedagogy
Attend various community committee meetings (as requested) as a representative of the School District to identify relevant and practical ways the district can participate
Manage registration and collection of child care and preschool fees
Maintain and update Child Care Inventory on an on-going basis
Assist the District Principal of ELCC with maintaining and reporting on required documents requested by the School District and the Ministry of Education and Child Care
Demonstrate an understanding of community data including the Early Development Instrument and Statistics Canada
Identify options and opportunities for project funding sources
Liaise with District Facilities Department to ensure that third-party child care and district child care meet the terms and conditions of licensing and contracts, providing recommendations to District Principal of ELCC as required
Assist with invoicing and reconciling Ministry funding allocations for child care and preschool
Manage and oversee school district Early Learning social media sites
THE APPLICANT
Preference will be given to applicants who possess:
Post-Secondary Diploma, in Early Childhood Education
5 Years of experience in early childhood education
Demonstrated understanding of the BC Early Years Framework, the Ministry of Education and Child Care\xe2\x80\x99s vision, purposes & practices, and the Chilliwack School District\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic Plan, and child care licensing regulation
Experience in managing an early learning program
Ability and disposition to work collaboratively with all levels of school district leadership in support of the mutual goal of healthy early learning experiences and partnerships
Ability to manage relationships with client families and stakeholders, demonstrating empathy, maturity, and patience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Awareness of budgetary responsibilities required for early learning environment
Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite, standard business software applications and basic visual design programs (such as Canva or InDesign)
Experience with child care management system (such as Esikidz)
