MENTAL HEALTH & ADDICTIONS SERVICES


TEMPORARY FULL TIME COORDINATOR


KIRKWOOD PLACE - SUDBURY


FROM $51.55/HOUR TO $64.47/HOUR





Kirkwood Place is a satellite site of the North Bay Regional Health Centre located in Sudbury,


Ontario. Kirkwood Place is home to 34 regional mental health inpatient beds - Regional


Specialized Dementia Care Program (Oak Lodge) and Specialized Adult Rehabilitation and


Transitional Service (Nickel Lodge). Reporting to the Program Manager, the Kirkwood Place


Coordinator will provide day-to-day coordination and support within these multidisciplinary


teams in order to create clinical practice environments that support quality patient care, patient


safety, clinical competence, and a positive work environment. Further responsibilities of the


Kirkwood Place Coordinator include, but are not limited to:

?



Providing leadership to create and maintain practice environments that support a culture of safety and


continuous quality improvement in partnership with staff/affiliates, patients, families, and community


partners.

Collaborate with unit based staffed in ongoing program development to ensure continuity of care,


positive patient outcomes and best quality practices.
?

Provide day-to-day coaching, conflict resolution, and instruction to multiple disciplines/unregulated


staff with escalation to Manager as needed
?

Provide day-to-day leadership to clinical staff ensuring policies, procedures, Standards of Practice are


followed
?

Participation in relevant committees and working groups
?

Support and coordination of the facilities services that serve the Kirkwood Campus
?

Act as a liaison point amongst the Director, Mental Health and all agencies who utilize the NBRHC


Kirkwood Place campus and the departments that support property management.





QUALIFICATIONS





Certification/Experience/Knowledge:



Bachelor's degree, preferably in Health Sciences or equivalent education and experience


required


Current registration with a regulated College an asset


Leadership experience within the health care system


Application of Cultural Safety best practices and use of a Trauma Informed approach in all


relationships and interactions


Knowledge of applicable Acts (Mental Health Act, PHIPA, FIPPA, AODA etc)


Application of the Ontario Health and Safety Act


Experience in Risk Management practices


Knowledge of Recovery Model of care in Psychosocial Rehabilitation


Senior Friendly Advocate


GPA, NVCI required


Demonstrated knowledge of collective agreements, scheduling, and computer applications


required


Knowledge of continuing care service delivery models, change management, quality


improvement principles


Knowledge of corporate renovations and associated standards and bylaws


Knowledge and application of Strategic Plan, mission, and values





Skills/Abilities

:


Managing difficult conversations and excellent communication skills


Creative problem solving skills


Demonstrated leadership, change management, problem solving, critical thinking, conflict


resolution, team building, and communication skills required.


Ability to comprehend and adhere to Collective Agreements


Excellent organizational skills as it pertains to time management, record keeping, project charters


Skill and ability to work with teams of varied disciplines, patients, families, and external


stakeholders


Must demonstrate commitment to ensure personal safety, safety of fellow workers, patients,


volunteers, and visitors


Ability to support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events


required


Must demonstrate good attendance


Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.All unilingual candidates are encouraged to

apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful

bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
