Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Manager of
Intercultural Green Buildings and Retrofits Training Project
, the Coordinator is responsible for project planning and service delivery. This includes coordinating communication with the partners, marketing of the project, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones, and managing client engagement.
Key duties and Responsibilities:
assess individual client needs, skills and employment goals to effectively market them to potential employers;
coordinate the implementation of project activities according to the work plan and timeline;
monitor and track progress toward key deliverables, targets, and milestones;
Identify and resolve barriers to timely project execution, escalating issues as needed;
prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including status reports and tracking tools;
assist with data collection and reporting for internal and external stakeholders;
develop and implement a marketing plan to raise awareness of the project among potential clients, community organizations, and employers;
create promotional materials, including flyers, digital content, newsletters, and presentations;
design and execute outreach strategies to recruit eligible clients into the program;
conduct intake interviews, assess client eligibility and fit, and manage enrollment documentation;
Identify, engage, and build partnerships with employers willing to host practicum placements;
work with employers to define placement roles, expectations, and schedules;
match clients with appropriate placement opportunities based on interests, skills, and program goals;
facilitate communication between clients and employers before, during, and after placements to ensure successful outcomes;
strategizes with Manager to continually improve processes and increase employment statistics;
facilitates wage subsidy work experience placements;
conducts regular project status meetings and provides updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and mitigation plans; and
performs other program-related duties as assigned by the Director from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
fluent in English; fluency in a second language is an asset;
strong knowledge of local labor market information and methods to maintain a current understanding of local influences and regional trends;
strong analytical skills coupled with a high degree of accuracy;
possesses established connections within the community and with employers;
excellent verbal and written communication skills;
strong ability to work with minimal supervision;
excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and the public including potential employers and other service providers;
competent to accomplish tasks with deadlines, handle stress and pressure;
willing to take initiative, and action & results-oriented, flexible, and dedicated to quality work; and
career development practitioner certificate is an asset.
Qualifications/Experience Requirement:
related post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience;
3 years' job development, career coaching, or placement experience in a related setting;
demonstrates ability to build lasting professional relationships with clients and employers;
knowledge of employment programs and services, and local labour market conditions;
comprehensive report writing skills; and
completed degree or diploma in Social Services or related discipline supplemented by two years' experience in a job developer role OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Information
valid driver's license and access to suitable vehicle is an asset; and
clean Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) is required.
