About the role:

Reporting to the Superintendent, Closure, the Coordinator, Health and Safety is responsible for the administration and coordination of site health and safety programs. This position will be focused on ensuring Health and Safety of employees and contractors.

To be successful, we require someone who can multitask, stay organized, and support multiple scopes within a fast-paced team environment. The successful individual is self-motivated and possesses strong attention to detail, problem solving, and decision-making abilities. This role involves collaborating with contractors and stakeholders on safety initiatives and programs, thus a flexible attitude, and strong communication and interpersonal skills are vital for success.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive and enhance health and safety performance and initiatives. You will work on an exciting and dynamic team, collaborating with site departments and EVR central safety team.

In this role you will:



Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies Responsible for supervision and management of site loss prevention officers Apply continuous improvement processes and systems to improve health and safety performance Advise, coach, and lead contractors and internal teams to ensure proper high potential risk controls are implemented, and occupational health and safety standards and legal requirements are fulfilled Coordinate and administer safety systems and programs, such as SiteLine EHS Tracking System, audits, inspections, contractor management, and high potential risk control strategy Manage site health and safety program including but not limited to drug and alcohol testing, noise, dust monitoring and hygiene Maintain a constructive relationship with regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to Alberta OHS and British Columbia HSRC Support health and safety programs for the closed Bullmoose mine located near Tumbler Ridge, British Columbia. The Bullmoose mine is managed by the Cardinal River team Manage contractors that report to the safety team and provide contractor management support for the site for heath and safety aspects

Requiremets:



Working knowledge of applicable Alberta OHS and British Columbia HSRC regulations or similar OFA III or Advanced First Aider High School Diploma, or equivalent Supervision experience Experience with Microsoft Office Suite Class 5 driver's license minimum, Class 4 would be an asset Experience/certification in drug and alcohol testing would be an asset Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Health and Safety would be an asset Mine Rescue or Emergency Response team experience would be an asset Relevant experience in mining, processing facilities, or operational experience in construction or other heavy industry is an asset

The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
