What you can expect from this position:





This role plays a key role in maintaining safe and efficient airfield operations by managing electrical work on capital projects. This position ensures compliance with specifications and safety standards, conducts site inspections, coordinates with engineers and the Airfield team, and oversees major electrical maintenance activities such as closures and NOTAM submissions. Responsibilities also include reviewing technical drawings, providing lockout and locate services, and recommending solutions to support facility development throughout all project stages.


As a Coordinator, Electrical Project (Airside), you will:




Conduct site inspections of contractor work and work performed by electrical maintenance staff on capital projects, identify deficiencies and concerns to the project Engineer and communicate all daily activities to the Airfield group via the morning briefings. Review project specifications and drawings for completeness and provide vital correspondence on the development of new and existing facilities and systems along various stages. Provide solutions and demonstrate the effectiveness and requirement of various new products. Co-ordinate in house activities related to major electrical maintenance activities, ie. Arranging closures and submitting surface NOTAM requests. Update shop drawings and provide all verifications to the construction AS-built drawings under each stage to the TDC (Technical Data Centre). Provide lockout and locate services for airside electrical utilities under the responsibility of the Airfield Electrical Systems Manager.

This unionized position is classified at the Band 9 level, with an hourly wage of $57.66, based on a 40-hour work week. A test may be administered as a part of the competitive process.


This is the role for you, if you have




Minimum 5 years working as a Licensed Construction Maintenance Electrician (Licensed 309-A). Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as 309-A - Electrical Construction and Maintenance Certification. Valid Ontario Provincial Class G driver's license. Ability to obtain and maintain a D class AVOP permit. Ability to obtain and retain a Transport Security Clearance.

Knowledge and skills you bring that set you up for success




Extensive knowledge of airfield lighting circuitry, power requirements and associated equipment. Ability to represent the Airside electrical team that would include and not limited to chairing meetings with key stakeholders related to project related activities and/or Maintenance activities that require complex coordination for surface closures. Extensive knowledge of airport electrical systems such as regulators, generators, uninterruptible power sources, and electrical distribution systems. Extensive knowledge of work procedures for Medium Voltage (4160V) Power distribution systemsPower transfer systems. Familiarization with the 13.8 KV and 27.6 KV Airport Electrical feeder systems. Ability to use TDC documentation, software systems and control process. Complete knowledge of the airport layout, Airport Construction Code (ACC), Standard Operating Procedures as well as Safety and Security Systems, procedures and requirements. Thorough knowledge of Transport Canada Standards Document TP312. Extensive knowledge of Maximo and Airside Electrical Maintenance Programs. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Canadian Electrical Code/Ontario Electrical Code, Canadian Standards Association (CSA)and the National Building Code. Working knowledge of the Airport Runway Monitoring System (Scan web). In depth knowledge of the computer-based inspection tool (MALMS Engineering).
