The Community Relations Coordinator plays a pivotal role in advancing the mission and visibility of Chilliwack Community Services. This multifaceted position is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with sponsors, donors, and the broader community; managing external communications; creating impactful content across channels; and leading the development of our annual report. The Community Relations Coordinator works closely with the Executive Director, Directors, Event Coordinator and Board Fundraising Committees.

Qualifications:

Education, Training and Experience:Diploma in Communications, Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field.
Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in nonprofit communications, development, or community engagement.
Job Skills and Abilities:Proficiency with social media management tools and email marketing platforms.
Familiarity with CRM or donor management software.
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Highly organized, self-directed, and adaptable to changing priorities.
A passion for community impact and nonprofit work.
Ability to type at least 50 words per minute with high degree of accuracy.
Advanced level of proficiency with all MS Office applications.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Valid drivers' license and reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with corporate sponsors, partners, and donors.
Develop sponsorship packages and proposals tailored to potential sponsor interests.
Oversee sponsorship agreements, benefits fulfillment, and recognition strategies.
Track and report on sponsorship engagement and ROI.
Plan and implement Employee Giving Programs, which involves making contact with companies to provide opportunities to give to Chilliwack Community Services through payroll deductions, in-kind donations, and volunteerism.
Support donor stewardship and retention through thoughtful communications and relationship-building.
Assist with individual giving campaigns, donor events, and acknowledgement processes.
Assist Event Coordinator with relevant preparation for CCS events as needed.
Maintain donor database records, ensuring timely updates and reporting accuracy.
Collaborate on donor impact stories and engagement strategies.
Develop and execute integrated communication strategies across print, digital, and social platforms.
Create compelling content, including newsletters, blog posts, press releases, and marketing materials.
Manage and grow the organization's social media presence (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.).
Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure brand consistency and effective storytelling.
Lead the planning, writing, editing, and production of the organization's annual report.
Collaborate with staff and stakeholders to gather program data, impact stories, and visuals.
Ensure the annual report reflects the organization's mission, achievements, and financial transparency.
Represent the organization at community events, partner meetings, and public speaking opportunities, including leading partnerships on third party fundraising initiatives.
Build relationships with community stakeholders and volunteers to increase awareness and involvement.
Coordinate outreach campaigns and public engagement initiatives.
Develop, implement and evaluate new and existing fundraising initiatives including identifying potential new funding sources.
Set specific, measurable, realistic and achievable fundraising goals and ensure that these goals are met.
Work with the Fundraising Committee of the Board of Directors and internal staff in fundraising planning, goal setting and implementation.
Plan and implement the Annual Giving Campaign, which involves coordination of a direct mail campaign.
Provide support for grant writing, when applicable.
Build a Planned Giving strategy for CCS including opportunities for long term giving and bequests.
Produce ad hoc reports from databases as required by identifying and organizing the required information, compiling data, designing format, and printing reports.
Ensure compliance with required ByLaws and Canada Revenue Agency.
In the context of the Strategic Plan, in collaboration with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, develop a Fundraising Strategic Plan for overall donor development which meets the financial goals and objectives of CCS.
Actively participate in monthly Board Fundraising Committee meetings as needed.
Plan and implement the Christmas Sharing Program in collaboration with the Executive Director.
Participate in supervisory, staff development and team meetings as scheduled.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Complete all mandatory learning requirements.
Perform other relevant duties as may be required.

Wage range is $29.00 - $31.00 per hour, plus health and dental benefits.
This position is Exempt.
