JOB SUMMARY


The Asset Management Branch is responsible for the cost-effective management of the City\xe2\x80\x99s $20 billion public works infrastructure assets, carrying out or overseeing the provision of planning, analysis and needs evaluation specifications, and Request for Proposal (RFP) development, evaluation and selection. You are responsible for identifying interdependencies, conflicts and opportunities across Infrastructure Service\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio of capital construction projects, and recommending scheduling, bundling or other measures to the Senior Engineer. You are also responsible for co-ordinating the Species at Risk requirements for projects, preparing reports on a regular basis, and providing other support to the Senior Engineer.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE


Completion of 4 year university degree in construction management, engineering or other related field Minimum of 2 years of practical experience working in a municipal capital works environment, including experience in infrastructure construction, maintenance or renewal projects, and asset management.

KNOWLEDGE


  • The Occupational Health and Safety Act and specific regulations, programs and guidelines pertaining to construction management/construction health and safety
  • Methods, techniques, principles and processes used in the planning, coordination, design, delivery, construction and sequencing of capital infrastructure projects
  • Project management methods, practices and software
  • Contract management
  • Understanding of asset management practices
  • Understanding of the processes used in estimating the costs of capital projects
  • Applicable legislation governing endangered species and species at risk
  • Relevant corporate/departmental/branch/unit policies, guidelines, protocols, procedures and processes
  • MS Office, ArcGIS
  • Knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation, including the rights and duties of workers

  • Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
