About the Role:





The Adult Fitness and Lifestyle (AFL) Coordinator is responsible for supporting strategies aimed at improving member experience and retention through the delivery of excellent individual fitness programs and outstanding service quality in the Fitness Centre. With the support of the AFL Supervisor, the AFL Coordinator will coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Fitness Centre and supporting the development of staff. Flexible schedule required - days, evenings, weekends and some stat holidays.


Responsibilities:




Maintain a safe, well-maintained, and organized Fitness Centre for YMCA members. Oversee and supervise activities within the Fitness Centre to ensure all members experience a safe and enjoyable workout environment. Monitor and reinforce appropriate member etiquette in the Fitness Centre, addressing any issues promptly to ensure a positive shared environment. Perform regular cleaning and basic maintenance of fitness equipment. Instruct group fitness classes or conduct personal training and Y Thrive sessions as needed. Maintains a safe and supportive environment by following YMCA Health Safety/Child Protection and Emergency Response Policies and procedures. Contribute to branch Duty Manager Shifts as assigned.

Qualifications:




Current Personal Training certification from an approved certifying body. Post-secondary education in a related field (Bachelor of Physical Education, NAIT-PFT) is considered an asset. Current group fitness certification through a recognized certification body is considered an asset. Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check. Intermediate (Standard) First Aid and CPR-C. Previous leadership experience an asset.
