What would my role be?





Reporting to the Executive Director, Bruyere Health Village, you will be responsible for:


Coordinating all tenant outings and activities within Bruyere Health Village and preparing monthly activity calendar Coordinating major events within the Village which may vary from Health & Wellness events to Craft fairs or in-house educational sessions for the tenants. Working with internal and external clients within the community such as senior's community centers, City of Ottawa and other senior organizations to develop senior-friendly events, in-house exercise programs and other activities and outings beneficial to the tenants. Updating all promotional literature and maintaining InfoNet and the Bruyere Health Village website Preparing daily communications for the tenants when required.

Evening and weekend work may be required based on operational needs.




How do I qualify?





Required:


Two (2) year Community College Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Recreation and Leisure studies Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a retirement or seniors home environment Experience in dealing with patients and other tenants who have dementia or behavior issues Valid Smart Serve certificate and Food Handler's certificate from a recognized institution Fluent in French and English

Strong administrative and organizational skills High level of attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong analysis and problem-solving skills Commitment to Continuous Quality Improvement, client-focused approach to problem-solving and service delivery Excellent judgment and time management skills in prioritizing appointments, meetings and organizing workload to ensure completion of tasks within tight deadlines Experience in event planning including health fares and community events Available to work flexible hours when required Advanced computer skills - Advanced knowledge of desktop applications (i.e. Microsoft Office Suite software) Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
