JOB PURPOSE
This position delivers the 100 More Homes (100MH) vision and strategic goals by focusing on implementing the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness (CAEH) Built for Zero (BfZ) program to end chronic homelessness in Penticton. The 100 More Homes Strategy Coordinator is a dedicated and knowledgeable community developer working to improve social conditions for citizens, cultivating productive relationships with partners (government and non-profit), as well as connecting with different community initiatives to identify the strongest approaches to tackle homelessness issues in Penticton whilst supporting the implementation of 100MH goals and vision. The successful candidate will bring experience in community development, public speaking, project management, partner engagement and data management skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will support in developing agile and responsive communications tools, and a keen desire to explore innovative community-based solutions.
This position is scheduled to end December 2025, and it may subject to extension or early conclusion.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities: Data Management
Responsible for data collection, data program development, data coordination & evaluation in alignment with the CAEH Built for Zero guidelines
Maintaining and updating data reports, management tools and data submissions
Working with BC Housing to support a Reaching Home and CAEH standard Coordinated Access table
Ensuring data meets rigorous federal and provincial quality testing standards
Key Responsibilities: Community Coordination
Convening the 100 More Homes Steering Committee and ensuring that associated Action Tables conduct timely reporting and updates to the Steering Committee
Coordinate 100MH and other similar groups to work on implementing BC 211 or similar services in the community
Support outreach coordination and knowledge exchange between partners and in partnership with the City of Penticton Social Development Team
Providing accessible participation of 100MH in broader provincial and national learning opportunities such as Built for Zero learning sessions
Engages Penticton community by identifying and creating avenues for open dialogue to understand community aspirations
Develops and engages in activities to promote 100 More Homes objectives
Develop relationships of trust and mutual respect with residents and strategic key partners using a community development framework
Facilitates community engagement opportunities by coordinating logistics and partners in collaboration with local neighborhood staff and volunteers
Coordinate and convene grant opportunities with member organizations of 100MH to find, prepare and develop competitive, professional, and well-developed applications for additional funding such as Reaching Home, Plan H or Community Mental Health Center (CMHC) granting streams
Support and inspire the community to work together under a Collective Impact Framework
Key Responsibilities: Governance
support the communication and relationship between the 100MH Steering Committee and Action Tables
Help develop the 100 More Homes community governance structure using a Constellation Model
Maintain connections with community partners, groups and organizations to support knowledge sharing and elevating issues and concerns
Guide and update the strategic goals of 100 More Homes to include measurable goals
Providing updates on strategic goals to partners on a quarterly basis
Develops alignment with provincial government Ministry mandates and regional and national tables on housing and homelessness
Implement and manage governance needs of 100 More Homes new governance structure - Housing and Homelessness Advisory Circle and Action Tables
Maintains accurate records and action items of various tables within 100MH Governance structure
Key Responsibilities: Communications
Ability to speak on behalf of the collective with partners, media and public
Support member organizations in creating and collating social media content to meet 100MH brand standards and creating scheduled content via 3 current social media platforms agreed on at the Communications Action Table
In collaboration with the Communications Action Table identify specific goals for engagement, growth and reach
Maintaining a written history of the 100 More Homes Collaborative; tracking activities, milestones, and achievements
Recruit, train and coordinate volunteers' involvement in 100 More Homes to support completing the activities of 100 More Homes
Develops and manages community fundraising activities in alignment with awareness raising events
Leads internal communication with 100MH leaders and member organizations
Media management including the creation and maintenance of a 100 More Homes website and that it contains accurate data from BfZ initiatives
Support with inter-agency communication between members of the Collective when relevant
General
May participate in community engagement or fundraising activities
Performs other duties related to the qualifications and requirements of the job
Administrative roles may cover reception and provide support to other teams
Manages team including hiring and performance management. Provides guidance and sets standards and priorities, assigning work, removing barriers and ensuring goals are met
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education:
The ideal candidate will have completed post-secondary education in areas such as Social Sciences, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field, with at least 5 years of leadership experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience
:
3-5 years' experience in engaging communities in asset building activities and mobilizing resident action to solve community issues
Ability to inspire confidence and passion with internal and external audiences
Experience working with or knowledge of homelessness issues
Project management experience and experience working with volunteers
Experience and/or training in cultural sensitivity, trauma informed approaches and familiarity with the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) and Calls to Action
Knowledge of Indigenous specific racism and its relationship to the colonial events of Canada, and experience in decolonizing organizational policies and processes
Experience working with a variety of Indigenous and non-Indigenous partners including government (local, regional, provincial), senior management of community agencies, emergency services, non-profits, business associations, crown corporations and the public
Experience in analyzing various data sources, providing reports, and proposal writing are required
Skills

Strong organizational, analytical, reporting and time management skills with the ability to understand and communicate the broader implications of plans and activities
Ability to develop clear processes and strategies and share best practices to peers and supervisors

Ability to motivate others and work as a team member. Proven experience in working alongside community volunteers in a supportive partnership. Skilled in creating and maintaining good working relationships with a variety of internal and external partners
Previous experience in successful community engagement projects
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and learning new software and digital tools
Ability to work on multiple projects and responsibilities concurrently
Ability to work effectively under pressure, be responsive and meet deadlines
Strong leadership skills

Ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external interactions
WORKING CONDITIONS
Attend program sites, and travel for meetings, sometimes to remote communities
Adaptable to schedule changes and outside of business hours to attend meetings and events

This is a bargaining unit role with CUPE Local 1760. This position is at pay grade 34, which is $37.83 hourly.
