Job Purpose

Reporting to the Supervisor of Technology Services, Senior Technical Specialist Network is responsible for functions related to technical planning, design, configuration, operation and support of network infrastructure services.

Job Responsibilities

------------------------


Design, implement, configure and manage network infrastructure systems, including capacity, firmware/software releases, system configuration and maintenance. Maintain system documentation, including build, configuration and recovery, asset management. Create and modify procedures and standards as required. Schedule and execute System Change Requests. Troubleshoot, resolve, and document network related incidents. Provide internal IT support. Escalate to external service providers as required. Monitor availability and performance for network infrastructure systems. Participate and contribute to capacity and availability plans for network infrastructure. Investigate network infrastructure system requirements and research new products and solutions. Participate in product selection and complete purchase requisitions. Coordinate technical activities for projects.

Primary Qualifications

Currently enrolled in a recognized degree, certificate, or diploma program in an IT related discipline The core competencies for this position include achieving quality results, adaptability/managing change, communication, customer service, decision making and problem solving, integrity and building trust, teamwork and cooperation and valuing diversity. These competencies are deemed important for the success of the position and organization. Communication will involve exchanging information, answering inquiries, consulting, and initiating programs.

Vacation

Accrue up to 10 paid vacation days per year during the first 2 years of employment. Accrue 15 paid vacation days per year after 3 years of employment. Accrue 20 paid vacation days per year after 5 years of employment. Accrue 25 paid vacation days per year after 9 years of employment.
