We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for 2 (two) highly motivated Technical Writer Co-op Students to join our Divisional Planning, Coordination and Support Services (DPCSS) department with our business product management.

The DPCSS department, in the Claims and Rehabilitation Services (CRS) division, is an internal planning and support team for the largest division of WorkSafeBC. DPCSS supports the CRS leadership team in its planning and resourcing and supports the CRS Division in meeting its strategic and operational priorities. It is responsible for defining and prioritizing business system/intelligence needs, conducting strategy and product management, analyzing key outcomes and supporting CRS operational departments to achieve their goals.

This is a four-month full-time positions starting in January 2024.

Where you\xe2\x80\x99ll work

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and at a minimum of once per month in our Richmond office or based on operational needs.

What you\'ll do

  • Research, outline, write, and edit content, working closely with various departments to understand project requirements
  • Gather information from subject-matter experts and develop, organize, and write procedure manuals, technical specifications, and process documentation
  • Work with development and support leads to identify documentation repositories, revise, and edit, and determine best solutions for data compilation and centralized storage
  • Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation

  • Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
  • Clearly and concisely communicate and present information and data in written, graphical, and verbal formats
  • Review current content and develop innovative methods for improvement
Your background and experience
  • Enrolled in a journalism, communication, business administration program or similarly related program
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint is an asset
