The co-op student assigned to ITS Asset Management will be participating in a unique program established by Peel Regional Police in partnership with colleges and universities. This program has been designed to assist students to satisfy graduation requirements by attaining hands-on work experience through a co-op placement. To be eligible, candidates must be enrolled in a co-op program through their educational institution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
:
Extracts and analyzes data reports related to asset management to ensure accurate hardware/software counts for renewals and refresh cycles
Maintains and manages a centralized asset database that includes various hardware and software at different stages of their lifecycles
Works with multiple stakeholders to identify requirements and provide asset procurement services in accordance with their needs
Develop, maintain, and manage a Service Catalog
Analyzes and develops processes and procedures for optimization of various asset management practices
Researches, reviews, and recommends improvements to current processes
Supports the activities of the Program Co-ordinator-Asset and Vendor Management personnel by performing research, gathering, organizing and analyzing data, as well as engaging internal and external stakeholders
Assists in administering various aspects of the mobility services
Performs onsite or remote audits of software or hardware assets
May occasionally assist other teams within Client Technology Services (CTS) with various remote or on-site tasks
Perform additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Pursuing a degree/diploma in IT Asset Management or an IT related program is preferred
Applicants with previous education and/or experience in IT Asset Management will be considered
Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills
Detail oriented with demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
Effective time management and organizational skills to meet tight deadlines
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team

College/University co-op positions posted are for the Winter term and will run from January 12, 2026, to April 24, 2026. Maximum placements are 15 weeks in length, with full time hours and are paid.
