Why is this role important?

In this role you will be supporting and enhancing existing ETL and front-end applications. As a co-op student you will be involved in a variety of activities that support priority projects for our department. These projects are key in helping us drive CIHI's overall mandate to deliver on better data, better decisions, for healthier Canadians. This unique opportunity will expose you to areas of Data pipelines built in PySpark, Informatica DEI. You'll get to further your experience in using Business Intelligence tools like Qlik, MicroStrategy, Drupal, and JavaScript web applications.




What you'll do

- Support existing ETL and front-end applications with the use of Python, PySpark, and JavaScript.


- Build tools that will help automate/enhance existing applications.


- Help in coordinating, collaborating, communicating, monitoring, reporting and documenting key activities within the department.


- Actively participate in problem-solving and developing solutions.


- Assist with implementing and executing solutions to meet specific business needs.




What you'll bring to the table

- Working towards an undergraduate or a graduate program requiring Co-op as part of educational requirement.


- Proficient with office suite.


- Experience and knowledge of Python, PySpark, JavaScript.


- Ability to communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders both verbally and written.


- Passionate about solving problems and demonstrated ability to be a team player.

Pourquoi ce role est-il important ?

L'etudiant stagiaire participe a la gestion et a l'amelioration des applications ETL (extraction, transformation et chargement des donnees) et frontales existantes. Il prend part a diverses activites menees dans le cadre des projets prioritaires de notre Division, qui contribuent au mandat general de l'ICIS (De meilleures donnees pour de meilleures decisions : des Canadiens en meilleure sante). Cette occasion unique permettra a l'etudiant stagiaire de se familiariser avec les pipelines de donnees crees dans PySpark et Informatica DEI et d'approfondir son experience des outils d'informatique decisionnelle comme les applications Web Qlik, MicroStrategy, Drupal et JavaScript.




Quelles seront vos responsabilites ?

- Utiliser Python, PySpark et JavaScript pour la gestion des applications ETL et frontales existantes.


- Creer des outils qui aideront a automatiser et ameliorer les applications existantes.


- Contribuer a la coordination, la collaboration, la communication, la surveillance, la diffusion de donnees et la consignation d'information dans le cadre des principales activites de la Division.


- Participer activement a la mise au point de solutions et a la resolution de problemes.


- Aider a la mise en oeuvre des solutions en vue de repondre aux besoins operationnels.




Que mettriez-vous a profit ?


- Etre inscrit dans un programme universitaire de premier cycle ou d'etudes superieures dont l'obtention du diplome est conditionnelle a l'accomplissement d'un stage.


- Maitrise des logiciels de la suite Microsoft Office.


- Experience et connaissance de Python, PySpark, JavaScript.


- Aptitude pour la communication efficace, tant a l'oral qu'a l'ecrit, avec les intervenants internes et externes.


- Grand interet pour la resolution de problemes et esprit d'equipe.
