We are actively seeking a Co-op Student, Communications who will be part of a high-performing and collaborative team providing communications support to Strathcona Resources Ltd. Reporting to the Manager, Communications, this role will support internal and external communications along with administration of the company\xe2\x80\x99s community investment program. This opportunity will begin May 2023 and will be available for either an 8- or 12-month work term.
Essential Functions:

  • Support the communications team in posting, delivering, monitoring, and measuring content through a variety of platforms: intranet, website, emails, and social media.
  • Develop and refine presentation materials.
  • Assist with basic graphic design and video editing.
  • Provide general writing and editing support.
  • Develop and implement communications plans for projects and initiatives as required.
    • Assist with community investment events, activities, and reporting.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for employee matching and volunteer program.
  • Support local donation and employee engagement committees, as required.
  • Other administrative and project management duties, as required.

Qualifications Include:
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Hands on experience in communications coordination or management.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Technically capable, excellent communicator and a desire to improve processes.
  • Proficiency in Office 365.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Adobe Professional Suite, photography, video creation and graphic design would be considered an asset.
  • Service-oriented, flexible, and collaborative.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Problem solver with a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable with change and ambiguity.
  • Strong relationship building skills with experience coordinating tasks and timelines.

Education and Experience:
  • Enrolled in 3rd or 4th year of undergraduate degree or diploma in communications, marketing, public relations or equivalent
  • Experience in a corporate environment an asset

Other Details:
Potential travel to the field (infrequent).
