Position Overview

Reporting to the Project Manager, Fabrication, the Jr. Project Coordinator provides technical and administrative support to the Fabrication Management Team to ensure project work is delivered as planned. Aecon is currently engaged in pre-fabrication projects across multiple sectors including, oil and gas, water treatment, nuclear refurbishment, and new nuclear builds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review drawings for construction including isometrics, drafting cutsheets\' and vendor drawings
  • Coordination of drafting activities
  • Track schedule and deliverables to ensure project milestones are met
  • Review and takeoff of material required for fabrication
  • Assist with quality related activities including the compilation and review of permanent records
  • Develop procedures for control of processes and equipment
  • Model new equipment for high-capacity production
  • Assist in reviews of RFQs and estimating
  • Work with Production personnel to problem solve manufacturing problems.
Required Knowledge and Experience
  • In process of completion of an Engineering Degree or equivalent
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
  • Knowledge of industrial codes and standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of CAD programs including the Autodesk Suite.
  • Ability to organize and work in fast turnover environment
