Onsite/Remote: Remote Position

This position will have a 12-18 month term.

Your Responsibilities

As a Data Wrangler for John Deere Financial located in Grimsby, Ontario, you will work as a member of an Agile team focused on delivering technical solutions to help the business solve problems through data insights and analytics. You may be responsible to work for a sustainable analytics stream and on data analytics solutions.

In addition, you will:

  • Work on developing solutions which includes working on technology enablement, visualization and analytics streams of the BI&A team
  • Work within an Agile development framework to develop business solutions such as dashboards, department sites with advanced functionality and software applications
  • Participate in the development and improvement of the team processes and best practices
  • Create technical and training documentation to support the business in their use of the solutions that you deliver
  • Participate in supporting/upgrading existing systems/applications as needed
  • Work with Business Intelligence reporting tools such as SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, Tableau, QlikView and advanced excel with VB macros
  • Work with analytics tools (Rstudio, Python Notebook) providing deep analysis on analytical projects
  • Brainstorm with the team to solve problems for a wide range of internal departments at John Deere (e.g. Legal, Accounting, Training)
  • Work with other developers in a cooperative paired programming environment
  • Collaborate with business partners to assist with requirements gathering for projects
  • Participate in teaming initiatives such as volunteering events, team-building events and more
What Skills You Need
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Technical aptitude and strength is mandatory
  • Software programming skills necessary to create, test and support software applications - no specific software experience required but an overall technical aptitude is needed to be successful in the position
  • Knowledge of advanced analytics tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience and understanding of user interface and design skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively is essential
  • Experience or knowledge of Agile principles and practices
  • Understanding of application development environments, databases, data management and infrastructure capabilities and constraints
  • Strong analytical skills to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • SQL skills will be an asset
What Makes You Stand Out
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with a \'can do\' attitude
  • Experience working with Business Intelligence reporting & visualization tools such as Business Objects Webi, Tableau, SAP Lumira
  • Advanced level MS Office skills (Excel with VB macros, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint
  • Experience creating and maintaining software documentation (QA, Support, Test, etc.)
  • Software development project related experience
  • Experience delivering analytics projects to business units
  • Understanding of programming languages (R language, Python)
  • Knowledge and understanding of Big Data
  • Experience in developing custom data models and algorithms for predictive and prescriptive analytics
  • Strong interest in working in an environment that can provide a wide variety of exposure to the many IT solution development functional areas of an enterprise company
Education

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
  • University student must be pursuing a degree in computer science, data analytics or a related field of study.
