Job Summary

Participation Lodge Grey-Bruce is a not-for-profit organization that strives to empower and enrich the lives of the individuals we support. Here at our Holland Centre location we have 22 supported individuals that require full care with varying disabilities. We have many faucets with which we connect with the community, but our main physical site in Holland Centre is currently seeking kitchen staff to join our wonderful team! We are a very dedicated team, seeking to support and enrich the lives of those we support.

Our Kitchen Helpers assist the cooks with food prep, grocery ordering, and stocking, with the ability to pick-up and cover Cook shifts during vacations and/or absences - with an increase in pay!

Duties:
- Assist in food preparation under the guidance of the cook
- Support cooks in meal preparation tasks
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area
- Handle and store food items following food safety guidelines
- Assist with basic cooking tasks as needed
- Help with dishwashing and kitchen equipment cleaning

Skills:
- Knowledge of food industry practices and standards
- Ability to follow dietary requirements/instructions
- Familiarity with food safety regulations
- Ability to work alone and in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Interest in learning and assisting with cooking tasks
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting is a plus

Certifications:
- Minimum G level Ontario license required with 3 or less demerit points (Lodge vehicle provided for grocery pick-up)
- Safe Food Handling Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- CPI Non-violent Crisis Intervention certified (willingness to complete in-house training)
- CPR/First Aid Class C

11, 8, 7 & 4 hour shifts Day shift Evening shift
Job Type: Casual

Pay: $23.54-$25.03 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 44 per week
