Duties

Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, ensuring high standards of taste and presentation. Handle food safely and adhere to all food safety regulations during preparation and service. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and efficient kitchen operations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, including proper storage of ingredients. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management for timely replenishment. Assist in training new kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food handling practices. Stay updated on current trends in sushi cuisine and incorporate new ideas into the menu offerings.

Qualifications

Proven experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment, specifically in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine preferred. Strong knowledge of food handling practices, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards. Excellent cooking skills with the ability to prepare various types of sushi, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls. Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members in a fast-paced environment.
