At The Oaks Wellness Center, we believe healing happens in many ways -- and one of them is through a warm, nourishing meal shared in a safe space. We are looking for a skilled, dependable person to join our team in the kitchen and help prepare dinners for our residents as they walk the path of recovery from substance use.

What We're Looking For:
Experience in food preparation, cooking, or working in a kitchen environment.
Knowledge of safe food handling and sanitation practices.
The ability to work independently while preparing meals on time for 12 to 20 residents.
Ability to plan, prepare, and serve balanced, nutritious meals.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time well.
A compassionate, non-judgmental attitude toward people in recovery.
Respect for privacy and confidentiality -- what you hear or see stays within our walls.
Dependability, adaptability, and the ability to work well with others.
What You'll Be Doing:
Preparing and serving healthy dinners for residents.
Keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and organized.
Monitoring supplies and assisting with inventory management.
Supporting residents' well-being by making mealtimes feel welcoming and positive.
Executing meals and kitchen closing duties in a timely manner. (e.g., general cleaning, organizing, sweeping, moping).
Occasionally adjusting meals to meet dietary restrictions or preferences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Food Safe or equivalent food handling certification.
Previous experience working in healthcare, residential care, or group settings.
Knowledge of nutrition and dietary needs (e.g., allergies, diabetes-friendly meals).
Ability to create meal plans and manage a kitchen budget.
CPR or First Aid certification (asset, but not required).
Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check.
Be able and willing to obtain 20 hours of training
