Working under the supervision of the executive director, the meal program assistant is responsible for all aspects of the meal program. Depending on organizational requirements, the meal program assistant may also be assigned specific duties to support the operation of other programming.
Duties
-Seek input from clubhouse members on meal program planning
-Plan and prepare balanced meals for 10 - 20 members each day, purchase needed supplies and keep accurate records of key program metrics determined by the Executive Director
-Serve meals and clean up kitchen and do dishes
-Post weekly and monthly meal schedules
-Provide support for special events where food is a requirement
-Assist with general clubhouse clean-up
-Encourage member engagement in other Sparta House programs
-Encourage and support members to be actively involved in the meal program based on their knowledge, skills and preferences, while accommodating each person's unique personality and any limitations they have resulting from mental illness
-Use flexibility and problem solving to model positive behavior
-Pursuant to discussion with the executive director, carry out other duties that may be assigned with other Sparta House programs
-Food safe certificate
-Vehicle and valid driver's license
-Satisfactory current criminal records and vulnerable sector check
-Physical requirements include some lifting and moving of supplies and furniture
-Some evening and weekend work is required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 - 24 per week
