Fantastic Scholars Child Learning Centre is seeking to hire a cook. The cook must demonstrate skills in preparing food in a nutritious, good tasting and appealing manner.

In addition to the salary, employees are provided with medical benefits plan according to the Company policy.

Responsibilities-

Prepare and serve healthy snacks and lunches

Follow proper food handling procedures

Prepare food according to the weekly menu

Knowledge of Allergies and dietary requirements

Maintain a clean and sanitized kitchen- follow proper sanitizing procedures

Weekly inventory and making procurement list

Maintaining records/receipts pertaining to the kitchen

Helping to care for children when required

Follow cleaning and sanitizing policies of the Hamilton Health Department

Removal of waste to the designated waste removal area

To have total responsibility of the kitchen, cleaning all of the equipment and appliances, take temperatures of the food, fridge and freezer and record these in the kitchen file

Proper clothing, shoes and hair restraints according to Public Health Standards and Childcare are to be worn daily

Cleaning, vacuuming and mopping of the Centre lobby area, washrooms and the stairs

Skills required:

Be professional, polite and positive in all verbal and non-verbal interactions with staff, parents and children at all times

Have a friendly, flexible approach

Must possess personal qualifications as related to How Does Learning Happen and [CCEYA] Licensing Standards for Child Care Centers, and including: emotional maturity, willingness to cooperate with the aims of the Day care Centre, respect for children and adults from various cultures and backgrounds, patience, good personal hygiene, and physical and mental health that do not interfere with responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Food Handling Certificate

- Police Check with vulnerable sector

- First-Aid and CPR Level C

- Updated medical including 2 Step T.B Test

- Experience working in a daycare Centre
