The Towne Place Suites West Kelowna is looking for a part time Cook to operate our kitchen. As a Cook, we trust you consistently provide our customers with remarkable meals without delay that meets the impeccable TownePlace standards. Ellipsis 51 is be open 5 days a week from 5:00pm to 10:00pm daily, with the hope of increasing to 7 days per week as business levels permit.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Since our kitchen is quite basic (we do not have a grill or a deep fryer), the menu has been designed to suit an entry level cook open to learning new skills. Prepare all aspects of the food production according to hotel standards and sanitation practices. Prepare food items for customers using a quality pre-determined method in a timely and consistent manner with the minimum of wastage possible. Daily cleaning and inventory of walk in, storage and refrigerators for stock rotation and cleanliness. Ensure all equipment in work area is properly cleaned after every use. Working with the Sales team to produce any catering items required for groups. We have started catering in the last couple of months, and limit the menu to sandwiches, soups, pizzas and the occasional pasta buffet, but our hope is to extend that in the future. Assisting the Front of House staff with clearing tables and polishing glasses and cutlery as needed. Report any equipment in need of repair to the GM immediately. Perform other duties as necessary and assigned by the GM.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

Must be Food Safe Certified Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English Must be able to work a variety of shifts including weekends Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A neat, clean, well-groomed appearance as per hotel standards. Must be able to lift/carry up to 25kg Must be able to push carts of up to 50lbs Must be able to stand on feet for 8 hours per day. Only candidates with the ability to legally work in Canada will be considered

Pay: $18.50-$19.00 per hour
