The Aegir Room in the award winning Oswego Hotel is seeking a dedicated and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. As a Cook, you will play a vital role in creating delicious meals that delight our guests while ensuring a clean and efficient kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
Assist in the planning and execution of meal preparation for various dining services.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and high-quality dishes.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Help train new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques.
Participate in menu development by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
Requirements
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred.
Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper food handling techniques.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences for guests.
