If you enjoy being around children, feel comfortable in a kitchen and want consistent part-time work, this could be the opportunity you are looking for.

We are searching for a permanent full-time cook to prepare simple pre-set menus for our food program. In addition to food prep, this position will be responsible for general kitchen clean up.

Reports to:

The Cook reports to the Food Services Manager.

Here's how you will make a positive impact on a day-to-day basis:

Prepare meals for groups of 35 to 60 children Wash and sanitize lunch and snack dishes Use knives and other basic home kitchen equipment Follow recipes and uses basic math skills to determine quantities needed Maintain inventory and order food from suppliers Communicate professionally and effectively Work effectively within a team Work independently Keep a tidy, organized and efficient kitchen by washing and sanitizing equipment, supplies, work surfaces and cupboards Enjoy cooking for children in a busy atmosphere

In addition to being a wonderful and positive person & team player, you must have:

Food Safe Certification 1 Clear criminal record check High school diploma Basic First Aid (formerly OFA Level 1) Some experience cooking complete meals for groups

Additional skills and experiences may include:

Courses in nutrition, food preparation, and storage Courses in sanitation and hygiene practices Experience working with/around children

Terms of Employment:

Salary: $25.31 per hour plus employer-paid health and welfare benefits. Permanent full-time position: 7.5 hours/day (37.5 hours/week) from 8am to 4pm, from Monday to Friday Starting: As soon as possible
