Job Overview

Wawatay Inn is looking for a Cook to join our friendly and supportive kitchen team. This role focuses on preparing buffet style meals and helping create a welcoming dining experience for our guests. Our kitchen is steady and organized, not high pressure, making this position a great fit for someone with a year or more of experience who wants to continue developing their skills.

Duties

Prepare and cook buffet style meals Assist with basic food prep such as chopping and assembling ingredients Maintain a clean and organized kitchen workspace Follow safe food handling and sanitation standards Restock supplies to support smooth daily operations Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff Support general kitchen tasks as needed

Requirements

One year or more of cooking or kitchen experience Basic understanding of food safety or willingness to learn Comfortable with preparing meals without strict or standardized recipes Reliable, positive and team oriented Able to maintain cleanliness and safe habits in the kitchen Flexibility for daytime or occasional weekend shifts Food safety certification is an asset but not required, training can be provided
