VG Group is looking for a Cook in Toronto, ON!
We are looking to hire a critical thinker and skilled problem-solver with retail shop skills to join our retail team with cross-over into production and farming. You will assist our efforts by ensuring our offerings and efforts are of the highest quality and honour the efforts put in by all that contribute and consume. To do well in this role, you should have a vast knowledge of the culinary arts, food prep operations and retail, be highly skilled, and have a strong desire to make decisions that lead to regeneration.
Hours:
$16/hr
44 hours per week
Main duties
Cook performs some or all of the following duties:
Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods
Prepare and cook special foods as instructed by the manager
Oversee kitchen operations
Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
May set up and oversee food displays
Clean and sanitize the kitchen, storage areas and work areas
Plan menus, determine the size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies
Employment requirements
Completion of the cooking certificate.
1 year of commercial cooking experience is required.
