Job Description

We are seeking a part-time cooks to provide an excellent dining and guest experience for the residents in the NCU Manor and/or Personal Care Home. The ideal candidate will have a positive attitude, excellent communication skills with previous cook experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen. These positions are part-time and can cover shifts from 6:30am to 2:30pm or 10am to 6pm.

Responsibilities:

Prepares all meals as indicated on menus in accordance with production schedules, standard recipes, and safe food handling procedures. Ensures proper portion control and estimates quantities of food needed to meet menu requirements. Receives, records, and communicates all diet requisitions and changes as assigned Inspects and/or tastes food for quality. Prepares meals in accordance with therapeutic and texture modified diets. Receives and checks food and supply deliveries and ensure they are stored appropriately. Ensures the sanitary handling of dishes, food, equipment and cleanliness of related work areas. Attends and participates in department and site meetings and/or in?services as appropriate. Communicates effectively and fosters a positive working environment as a member of the team. Works harmoniously within the team and collaborates with other departments of the Campus and service providers Maintains high standards of sanitation and safety in accordance with the established regulations. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Current Food Handler Training Certificate Level 1 or equivalent Food Sanitation course Experience in a commercial or institutional kitchen an asset. Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships. Mental and physical health to meet demands of position. Able to follow direction from multiple individuals.
