Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and cooking in a healthcare, hospitality, or senior living environment and a passion for serving others. You'll be responsible for preparing meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and resident preferences, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, and contributing to a positive dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and menus
Ensure meals meet nutritional standards and any special dietary needs
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including equipment and food storage areas
Follow proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures
Assist in receiving, rotating, and storing food supplies
Communicate effectively with the dining team and support a collaborative kitchen environment
Provide courteous and respectful service to residents and staff
Participate in menu planning and kitchen operations improvements as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
2+ years of cooking experience, preferably in senior living, healthcare, or hospitality
Knowledge of special diets (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic) a plus
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Food Handlers certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
