Job Description

A family owned and operated restaurant that is looking for a Cook to join the family! If you are looking for a small work space, with homestyle cooking and has a family friendly atmosphere this is the place for you. If you are pleasant, take initiative and great with people then we are looking for you.

Skilled in preparing Jamaican/Caribbean cuisine to include the following main responsibilities:

- Cut, wash and season meat, fish and poultry

- Wash, cut and chop vegetables

- Track and maintain kitchen inventory

- Prepare meals and sauces

- Cook dishes (cake baking experience a plus)

- Clean and sanitize kitchen area, kitchen tools, kitchen equipment and remove waste.

Qualifications:

Minimum

1 year experience as a cook

in a professional kitchen

Can lift up to 50 lbs

in a work setting

Proven experience with Jamaican cooking

and familiarity with authentic recipes and techniques A valid Food Safety Certificate Knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen best practices Strong teamwork and communication skills Ability to work evenings and weekends as required
