Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Cook to provide nourishing meals for residents in a long?term care setting. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about culinary arts and making a positive impact on seniors' lives.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve meals for residents under the direction of the Food Service Manager/Supervisor Follow standardized recipes and HACCP procedures to ensure food safety and quality Complete required training under the Long?Term Care Homes Act (LTCHA) and Regulation 79/10 Respect and support residents' multicultural diversity, beliefs, and values Maintain a professional, team?oriented demeanor at all times Demonstrate understanding of the facility's philosophy, objectives, and policies Adhere to Health & Safety legislation, internal policies, and procedures Work safely to reduce risk to self, co?workers, and residents Collaborate with the dietary team to deliver consistent, high?quality meals in a fast?paced environment
Qualifications

Experience in food preparation (healthcare or institutional setting preferred) Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles Ability to follow standardized recipes and cooking procedures Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Flexibility to work various shifts (days, mid?day, evenings; weekdays/weekends) Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights Food Handler's Certificate (mandatory) Culinary diploma/certificate (required) WHMIS or other safety training (asset)
Schedule & Coverage

Shifts: Days, Mid?Day, Evenings (10am-6pm) Coverage: Weekdays and Weekends, or both (as required by facility) (open availability required) Orientation: Shadow/orientation shifts may start next week, followed by solo shifts
