Job Description

Responsibilities



Responsible for the preparation and assembly of multiple ingredients for a cooked slurry or mixed batch. Must meet quality and safety standards that are established from operating procedures and recipe direction.

Major Duties of the Position:



1. Operate technical preparation equipment in accordance with established operating procedures and recipe direction, including but not limited to:

a) Open kettle cooking

b) Meppaco Mixers

c) Operate HMI Screens

d) Dry ribbon blenders and baggers

e) Milk Room Blends

f) Other Equipment as required

2. Coordinate activities of preparation work group to ensure adequate flow of raw materials to packaging area.

3. Disassemble and clean cooking equipment and areas, post-production.

4. Assist department team with troubleshooting and end of shift countdown.

5. Record appropriate critical parameters on required paperwork and report deviations from standard to Quality Assurance and Supervisors.

6. Operate a walkie truck (training provided where required).

7. Adhere to all related safety regulations and maintain a clean driving record.

8. Work with the Technical Development department to run product trials.

9. Care for the Environment by actively seeking out ways to eliminate waste of natural resources and by properly recycling any waste that cannot be avoided.

10. Knowledge of Minotaur transactions

11. Assist Preparation Operator, as required.

12. Perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications:



1. Grade 12 education.

2. Previous cooking (food) experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset.

3. Demonstrated ability to perform whole number and fractional calculations.

4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

5. Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills

6. Experience in Preparation Work Group with ability and willingness to train on major preparation equipment and small equipment would be an asset.

7. Knowledge of computer systems would be an asset.

8. Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time and supply product to the line as required.

Working Conditions:



Physical Effort:

- Lifting up to 25 kg when required.

- Bending & stair climbing while lifting

- Pushing/pulling 800lbs. approximately 30-50 times daily.

- Flexible range of motion - EX: floor to shoulder

Physical Environment

- Exposure to 80-95dB with PPE

- Wet/slippery floors

- Temperatures 39-95+ degrees F.

- Wearing of PPE

Sensory Attention

- High - smell and taste of cooked meat/sauce

GENERAL COMMENTS:



The individual is part of a key functional work group responsible for the preparation of cooked sauces, meats, and starch components. They are

punctual, reliable, professional,

and completely familiar with the operation of the factory, and work with the Department Supervisor, and Management group to achieve the established factory goals.
