Job Description

Hiring for close shifts, part-time (10-20hrs). Shifts are Monday through Sunday, weekends and holidays. Must be available to work from 3pm-3:30am. Must be available to work some day shifts when needed. Must have transportation to and from the business during operational hours.

There will be occasionall opportunities to work 22+hrs/w.

Job responsibilities:

*Processing transactions through pos, register, lottery terminal and debit

*Balancing the cash register at the end of your shift

*Selling lottery, tobacco, alcohol, prepared foods and groceries

*Checking I.D and verifying the legal age for the sale of tobacco, alcohol and lottery

*Problem solving shortages, inventory, merchandising and maintenance

*Pricing, stocking and merchandising

*Maintenance and daily cleaning

*Loss and fraud prevention through watching customers shop and watching for suspicious behaviour

- dealing with shoplifters, and preventing fraud through the knowledge of counterfeit bills, lottery scams and distractive behaviour

*Selling food items and keeping a sanitary environment

Qualifications and Skill Requirements

*hiring age 19+

*Valid Smart Serve certification

*6 months in a cashier role

*6 months in a stock person and merchandiser role

*High school diploma or equivalent

*Sociable and friendly

*Able to lift and move 35lbs

*Comfortable climbing a ladder for stocking purposes, maintenance, set ups, cleaning and any other purposes related to running a business

Standard Probationary Period

Employment is subject to a 90-day introductory period to assess mutual fit and performance.
