Fogo Island Inn is an initiative of Shorefast, whose mission is to build cultural and economic resilience on Fogo Island and promote community well-being by building and sharing new models of economic development. The Controls Technician/Facilities Systems Analyst, based on Fogo Island, will perform a variety of functions to support daily operations While working in a fast-paced environment, the incumbent will demonstrate a positive can-do attitude. The Controls Technician/Facilities Systems Analyst will report to the Facilities Director. General Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of process control systems within the Fogo Island Inn and associated buildings. \xc2\xb7 Maintain monitoring of all facilities systems within the Fogo Island Inn and associated buildings. \xc2\xb7 Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair items related to the Inn\xe2\x80\x99s Building Automation System. \xc2\xb7 Monitor and control the Inn\xe2\x80\x99s cinema and intercom equipment. \xc2\xb7 Ensures operation of machinery, electrical and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements. \xc2\xb7 Assist other technicians and maintenance personnel on site with any issues that arise within any of the systems associated with the Inn and associated buildings. \xc2\xb7 Respond to emergency maintenance service requests accordingly. \xc2\xb7 Be team oriented and take \xe2\x80\x98ownership\xe2\x80\x99 in the upkeep and operation of the Fogo Island Inn and associated properties. \xc2\xb7 Review blueprints, building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Document additions, subtractions and any changes that occur within the operational systems at the Inn. This will include updating the drawings and/or O&M manuals. \xc2\xb7 Prepare written work cost estimates. \xc2\xb7 Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures. \xc2\xb7 Must be neatly dressed, groomed and uniform in good order. \xc2\xb7 Work in a collaborative and positive manner with all members of the team at the Inn. \xc2\xb7 Proficient in using computer technology and email. \xc2\xb7 Other duties as required. The ideal candidate: \xc2\xb7 Journeyperson trade certification or equivalent trade experience. \xc2\xb7 Any additional training or certificates in field of expertise or related field considered an asset. \xc2\xb7 Driver\xe2\x80\x99s license is an essential requirement. \xc2\xb7 High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. \xc2\xb7 Strong preventive maintenance skills. \xc2\xb7 Promotes teamwork. \xc2\xb7 Problem solving ability a huge asset. \xc2\xb7 Keep records of assignments, work activity and produce detailed work reports. \xc2\xb7 Resourceful at developing good solutions to issues. \xc2\xb7 Superior communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Capacity to work in a deadline-oriented environment.
