About the Role



We are seeking a skilled Controls Technician and Programmer to join our team. This role involves designing, programming, and troubleshooting control systems for industrial automation projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical controls, PLC programming, and system integration. We are a factory representative for Distech controls in Manitoba, and any experience having worked with Distech would be considered a significant edge in the hiring process.

Key Responsibilities



Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control systems and automation equipment. Develop and modify PLC programs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar). Configure and integrate HMIs, VFDs, and other control components. Perform system testing, commissioning, and documentation. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure optimal system performance.

Qualifications



2 years of Controls experience in programming and technical support Hands-on experience with PLC programming and industrial controls. Knowledge of electrical schematics and wiring standards. Familiarity with industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, etc.). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Valid Manitoba driver's license. Must be legally permitted to work in Canada.

Preferred Skills



Experience with Distech Controls. Ability to read and interpret P&ID diagrams. Proficiency in troubleshooting complex automation systems. Sound knowledge of building automation systems. High level organization and problem solving. Pneumatic system maintenance is an asset
