Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, you will be responsible for the overall management of financial operations including financial reporting, financial analysis, internal controls and tax compliance.Our client is committed to:

Key responsibilities include:
  • Prepare, analyze and present monthly, quarterly and annual operating results
  • Oversee the accounting for all operating, holding and construction companies
  • Coordinate the month-end and year-end accounting procedures including variance analysis and reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Provide advice and guidance on all accounting matters including financial systems, record keeping, analysis and reporting
  • Review, audit and analyze budget and monthly reports for accuracy, correct allocation and significant variances
  • Support the operational and construction budget and forecasting process
  • Establish, adapt, manage and maintain an effective system of internal controls
  • Recognize and identify departmental inefficiencies and significant variances in reporting and provide recommendations
  • Lead and supervise the accounting team in the Finance department
  • Advise, collaborate and work with the Executive leadership team and the Board on strategic initiatives
  • Prepare year-end audit and tax schedules for external accountants
What the successful candidate will bring:
  • A degree in finance with CPA or advanced state of completion
  • 5+ years of finance experience at Controller level
  • Proven ability to lead and develop a team
  • Strong technical skills in financial reporting and complex financial analysis
  • Advanced experience with general ledger functions, creating financial statements and month-end/year-end processes
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent computer skills including high level Excel abilities
  • Strong collaborative, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering excellence and continuous process improvement
  • Experience in Construction and/or Property Management an asset
